Adam Goucher (resume) has been testing professionally for over 20 years at a range of organizations from national banks to startups. A large part of that time has been spent augmenting his exploratory testing with automation.
After discovering Selenium during a capital budget freeze in 2006, it quickly became his tool of choice when automating web interfaces. As a member of both the core development team and the larger Selenium community he helped revitalize the original Se-IDE project (and has been apologizing for it since) and maintained two automation frameworks for PHP (Mosey) and Python (Saunter).
These days, he is re-engaging the Se community and still has lots of opinions on how to write automation but is focused on the next big challenge in the Se community — the efficient and secure provisioning of their automation environments. Automators were doing DevOps and Continuous Delivery before they were even terms.
Automation is not the only tool in his toolbox. As an experienced tester who believes in the principles of both the Context School of Testing and the Agile Manifesto he brings an open and modern view of testing to projects.
These days he is CTO at MobileXCo helping build marketing experiences for brands and marketers. But still sometimes does some moonlighting to keep his skills outside of those needed for the day jobs sharp.
His first book, Beautiful Testing was published in October 2009.
